As Spitfire’s first CFO, Kevin Forster joined a firm seeking professional-strength financial management as it was growing rapidly from successful start-up to mature business…just as the economy was falling into global recession. Through the turbulence, Kevin quickly built a strong finance team and provided calm leadership and level-headed advice to a fast-paced entrepreneurial founder. Together with the COO and founder, Kevin navigated the storm and kept true to the firm’s values to avoid layoffs. Spitfire emerged even stronger as a market-leading national communications consulting firm with an enviable balance sheet and rock-solid financial processes.
As Spitfire thrived, Kevin secured cost-effective, productivity-enabling office spaces in San Francisco, New York, Denver and Washington DC. In subsequent years, Kevin collaborated with leadership and colleagues across the firm to improve the firm in numerous ways, including a deep commitment to living our values and promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in every aspect of the business.
Michael Dulla joined Spitfire as the Project Accountant in 2011 and mastered that role and much more. Michael was the rock star of the newly-formed finance team supporting Spitfire’s fast growth with ever-improving systems, deeper analytical insight and the highest level of client and staff service. Michael quickly became recognized as an unflappable problem solver and one of the most beloved colleagues across the firm as he rose quickly to Senior Accountant and then Accounting Manager. Michael had the well-earned reputation of being the person to see to get things done and to do it smartly and efficiently, all while maintaining high emotional intelligence and caring for staff and clients deeply. He also trained and led a team that truly appreciated his dedicated mentoring and leadership.
